Wiggins Family History in Establishing Wiggins Portable Buildings
Our locally owned and veteran-operated business was started in 1970 by Alford Wiggins. Alford’s wife was pregnant with their fourth child, and Alford was working as a milkman in 1970. He needed to shift gears to feed another mouth, so he started a business that sold sewing machines. He wanted to buy an office space to help his business grow when he discovered portable buildings. Alford knew that he could sell portable buildings successfully, and he sold his first one in April 1970, the week his son Daniel was born.
Today, Alford has 60 years of experience in sales and 52 years in the business. His son Daniel, the current owner, has 30 years of experience. Alford’s grandson Brantley is also a part of the family business, contributing nine years of insurance experience. The Wiggins family has over 100 years of combined sales experience spanning three generations.
